Collect the information you need from attendees by adding custom registration questions.
Default collected information
FairUp always collects: Name and Email address. You can add more questions to gather event-specific information.
Adding custom questions
- Go to your event's Registration settings
- Scroll to Registration Questions
- Click Add Question
- Configure: question text, question type, required/optional
- Save
Question types
- Short text — Names, titles, short answers
- Long text — Comments, special requests
- Single choice — Dropdown selection (one option)
- Multiple choice — Checkboxes (multiple options)
- Number — Age, quantity
- Date — Birthdate, preferred date
- Email — Alternative email, referral email
Common questions for career fairs
- "What is your field of study?"
- "Are you looking for internships or full-time positions?"
- "How did you hear about this event?"
- "Do you require accessibility accommodations?"
- "Which organizations are you most interested in?"
Managing responses
All responses are stored and can be viewed in the attendee list, exported as CSV, or used for filtering and segmentation.
Privacy considerations
- Only ask for information you actually need
- Make optional questions clearly marked
- Inform attendees how you'll use their data
- Follow DSGVO guidelines for EU events
